Tero Estate wines and Flying Trout wines are both made in one of the most picturesque wineries the northwest has to offer.  We focus on both extremes of the wine world- Flying Trout focuses on one variety (malbec) in many different AVAs while Tero Estates focuses on many varieties from one estate vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley.

Winemaker Ashley Trout flies between Argentina and the Walla Walla Valley, focusing on mlabec.  Flying Trout Wines is a bihemispherical winery, that produces about 500 cases a year, making it one of the Walla Walla Valley’s tiniest.

Tero Estates is a partnership between longtime friends Mike TEmbreull and Doug ROskelley (TERO). The idea began over dinner at an Italian restaurant in 2006. Doug and his wife Jan traveled to Milton-Freewater, Oregon to see Windrow Vineyard, an estate that had recently become available. What they found was beyond all expectations.  A mature vineyard, full of history, on rolling ground with unobstructed views of the Blue Mountains.

Doug, Jan and Mike set about revitalizing the vines, building a home, starting a winery and constructing, by hand, every detail of the facility.

At Tero Estates, the goal is to produce small lots of estate wines that reflect the ultimate expression of Windrow Vineyard.  The estate vineyard is filled with Bordeaux varieties and our cooperage is almost entirely 2nd and 3rd year French Vicard barrels.
