Harvest Update

A lot of the whites are in and the weather has been perfect.  Almost all of the sparkling wines’ grapes are in and a lot of the Chardonnay, Viognier, Chenin Blanc, Moscatel and random other grapes are in as well as some of the bulk red grapes for low end wines.

The majority of harvest is yet to come and Malbecs have not yet been touched.

It has been normal to cool, which is good, but yesterday and today have heated up a bit.

As long as we don’t have a hot March, this year looks to be great.  Good acidity.

So far the only problem is some grapes that had serious growth problems due to a late spring freeze.  That has more to do with a reduction in quantity than a reduction in quality.

We are looking for a repeat of 2006- which was legendary.
