And We’re Off

Plants are like people in many ways.  When you put them in 100 degree weather, they don’t do much.  They don’t grow, they don’t breathe, they don’t move and shake.  They hang.  If they had access to hammocks, they would use them.

This summer, there were quite a few of those days.  So that is one of the main reasons the harvest got off to a slow start.  The photosynthesis just stopped for about a week.  Then the late summer was cool- another reason for tardiness.  But the last couple of days have been hot and everything is going to be ready ready ready starting this week.
